The itinerary of Fes to Merzouga 4-day desert tour
First day : Fes - Middle Atlas - Ziz valley - Merzouga:
Pick up from your accommodation in Fes and head to Merzouga desert, we will have a stop in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco to enjoy the beauty of this town. then afterward will stop to see the wild apes in the cedar forest. Continuing to Midelt for a lunch meal in a restaurant. In the afternoon, we will cross the pass of Tizi n Tlghamt to reach Ziz valley where we will have a stop for a panoramic view of the valley.
In the afternoon we will arrive at Merzouga village where we will check in our hotel near the sand dunes for the first night, you can walk into the dunes to see the sunset. accommodation & dinner at a traditional hotel.
Second day : Full day in the desert ( Off-roading, Camel riding, and desert camping )
We will start our desert journey from Merzouga to Khamlia village where we will stop to listen to the Gnawa music played by locals, then we head to an old village where located the lead mines in the black mountains we will have some free time to explore before we continue to visit a nomadic family where we will have a cup of tea under their traditional tent and to get to know about their way of life.
In the afternoon we will ride the camel into Erg-Chebbi dunes in order to see the sunset and spend the night in the desert camp. Dinner at the camp and Berber drumming music around the campfire.
Third day : Merzouga – Rissani – Todra gorges :
Today, you must get up early in the morning to see a stunning sunrise over the dunes, and have fun sandboarding in the dunes. and after breakfast at the camp, we will return by riding camels to Merzouga village.
We will stop to visit Rissani which is an old traditional market where the locals of the Berber villages meet to sell and buy their needs, then we head to Todra gorges to have free time to explore the canyon and spend the night at a guesthouse or hotel in Todra gorges.
Fourth day : Todra gorges – Middle Atlas mountains – Fes:
On the last day of our 4 days Fes desert trip, we will depart from Todra gorges to Fes via the middle atlas mountains and their Berber villages, we will make stops on several places on the way to Fes and we will drop off you at Fes in the evening.
