Starting in the modern city of Casablanca, you will journey through Rabat, the Blue City of Chefchaouen, the imperial cities of Fes, Marrakech, and the breathtaking Sahara Desert. Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca → Rabat (1 hour drive, 90 km)
Arrive in Casablanca and meet your guide. Begin with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, offering stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean. Afterward, take a stroll along the Corniche, a lively seaside area. Then, travel to Rabat (1 hour drive, 90 km) for the night.
Day 2: Explore Rabat
In Rabat, visit the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Enjoy a tour through the city’s cultural landmarks, before continuing your journey to Chefchaouen (4 hours drive, 250 km).
Day 3: Chefchaouen
Arrive in Chefchaouen, known for its stunning blue-painted streets and buildings. Wander the peaceful streets of the medina, exploring local shops and cafes. Visit the Kasbah Museum and hike to the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views of the city and the Rif Mountains.
Day 4: Chefchaouen → Meknes (3 hours drive, 170 km)
Depart Chefchaouen and drive towards Meknes (3 hours drive, 170 km). Upon arrival, visit the grand Bab Mansour gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and Hedim Square, before continuing on your journey towards Fes (1 hour drive, 60 km). Overnight in Fes.
Day 5: Explore Fes
Spend the day exploring Fes’ UNESCO-listed medina, which is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the world. Visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Bou Inania Madrasa, and the famous tanneries. Wander the artisan workshops to admire local craftsmanship.
Day 6: Fes → Middle Atlas → Merzouga (8 hours drive, 500 km)
Leave Fes and drive through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains (8 hours drive, 500 km). Stop in Ifrane, also known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and Azrou, where you can spot wild Barbary macaques in the cedar forests. Continue to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.
Day 7: Merzouga & Sahara Desert
Experience a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a magical desert sunset and spend the night at a traditional desert camp, complete with music and stargazing. On the following day, wake up early for the desert sunrise and explore the surrounding area, including visiting the nomadic villages. Optional activities include sandboarding and quad biking.
Day 8: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley → Ouarzazate (5 hours drive, 300 km)
Drive to the impressive Todra Gorges (2 hours drive, 150 km), where you can hike through the narrow canyon walls. Continue to the Dades Valley (1 hour drive, 60 km), known for its stunning red rock formations, and visit the famous Valley of the Roses. Proceed to Ouarzazate (2 hours drive, 90 km), often referred to as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Visit the Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been featured in films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Spend the night in Ouarzazate.
Day 9: Explore Ouarzazate
Take a day to explore Ouarzazate, known for its film industry connections. Visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios, where many famous movies were shot. You can also take a short trip to the nearby UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou.
Day 10: Ouarzazate → Marrakech (5 hours drive, 200 km)
Drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass for breathtaking views. Arrive in Marrakech, where you’ll spend two days discovering the city’s vibrant medina, Jemaa el-Fna Square, and Majorelle Gardens. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, and the Bahia Palace. Immerse yourself in the city’s souks, famous for their colorful stalls selling spices, textiles, and jewelry.
Day 11: Explore Marrakech
Spend another day exploring Marrakech. Visit the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. Stroll through Jemaa el-Fna Square and the bustling souks. Take in the vibrant atmosphere and perhaps enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 12: Marrakech → Essaouira (3 hours drive, 180 km)
Take a day trip to Essaouira, a charming coastal city known for its historic medina, beaches, and fresh seafood. Stroll along the city’s historic ramparts, visit the Mellah, and enjoy a relaxing walk along the beach. Return to Marrakech in the evening.
Day 13: Marrakech → Casablanca (3 hours drive, 240 km)
Travel back to Casablanca (3 hours drive, 240 km). On the way, you can stop for a scenic view or visit a small village for a taste of the Moroccan countryside. In Casablanca, enjoy some free time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing, such as visiting the Royal Palace or the Old Medina.
Day 14: Departure from Casablanca
After breakfast, transfer to Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport for your departure.
